A marine in the Archangel Navy and a past member of Oscar Company. She first appeared in Poor Man’s Fight.

Biography[]

Alicia Wong was born in the Archangel system. Her grandfather Hideki Otsuka and mother Minako were refugees from Izumoto’s Star. She gave up a promising gymnastic career in order to enlist as a marine in 2274.[1] She met and befriended Tanner Malone during basic training in Oscar Company.[2][3] She served on the ANS Los Angeles where she met and began dating Brent Collins.[4]

Gunny Janeka quickly saw Alicia’s potential, and began taking her on various covert missions.[5] She was also promoted to corporal.[4] She took part in the Battle of Raphael and the boarding action against NSS Hercules.

Soon afterwards she, together with Gunny Janeka and Ravenell, participated in a covert mission to obtain evidence of illegal xenobiological research by CDC.[6] The mission was a success, but not in the way that the mission planners had envisioned, and Alicia disobeyed a direct order from the mission commander when she freed the captive Nyuyinaro alien.[7] The beyond-top-secret nature of the mission, the death of the mission commander, and the questionable legality of the order shielded her from any repurcussions.[8]

In 2279 she had made sergeant and joined the Archangel attack against Fairhaven, which ended the Debtor’s War.[9]

After the end of the war she decided to become an officer and joined the academy, where she did an early cadet cruise that took her to Minos on the ANS Beowulf.[10] Her presence there proved very fortunate when they made contact with the Nyuyinaro at Qin Kai, and Alicia was declared a “human with Nyuyinaro trust”.[11] She participated in the following rescue and evacuation mission to Minos.[12]

Relations[]

Alicia dates fellow marine Brett Collins. She is close friends with Tanner Malone since their days together in Oscar Company.

She is on good terms with her family, mother Minako, father Hai, brother David, and her maternal grandfather Hideki Otsuka, but has trouble navigating the many secret missions she has taken part in which she has to keep from them.[1] Her grandfather has however worked out that there are things she cannot tell.[13]

Abilities[]

Alicia is small in stature, but is strong, very quick, and with very quick reactions. She is a very capable soldier and leader.
