A large-scale battle in Seattle a Sunday in early January. The Light and their demon allies assaulted Suite 1705 and the remaining members of the Crew.

Background[]

The destruction of Anastacia’s Court and the Brotherhood of Apollo, together with Rachel’s campaign against demons had caused a power vacuum in Seattle. Azazel intended to claim Seattle by using the Light as pawns. Sammael had plans to get Lorelei back as his lover and servant by killing Alex, and claim the iron crown through her.[1][2]

The Battle of the Casino had left the Light eager for revenge, most of Seattle’s Practitioners paralyzed, and the Crew isolated, though they received some assistance from Hector. Rachel and Alex were also out of reach. Azazel poured demons into the Light’s camp.[3] As a result, Lorelei left Seattle for Hell, setting off the Battle of Perdition.

Events[]

A member of the the Light had surveilled Hector’s gun shop, and shadowed Onyx, Wade, and Drew after their visit. This allowed them to locate Suite 1705 and plan a full-scale assault. Onyx defeated the initial surprise assault, but was grievously wounded by Evelyn in return, and the Light was barely held off from successfully assaulting the condo.[4]

Drew managed to save Onyx from Evelyn, but it left the Crew split, and Jason was also badly wounded. The battle started to turn with the sudden return of Rachel and Alex, and furthermore by the arrival of Lorelei and some of her demons. Leon was defeated by Molly, but Sammael took off with Alex, intending to kill him. He was pursued by Rachel and Lorelei. Lorelei finally killed Sammael with a shard from the iron crown.[5][6]

Results[]

  • Dissolution of the Light.
  • Deaths of Evelyn and Sammael.
  • Xazzal and other free demons loose in Seattle.

Theories[]

The ammunition supplied by Hector had greater effect against demons during this battle compared to the earlier Battle of the Casino.[2] It is possible that Hector supplied the Crew with more potent ammunition than he himself used, but this seems unlikely. A more likely possibility is that the wards raised around Suite 1705 weakened the demons and made them more vulnerable.[7][5]

It is not stated outright why the spell that Leon used against Molly didn’t kill her, as it had killed Elizabeth.[5] It is unlikely but possible that Molly’s wards were stronger than Elizabeth’s. Molly’s youth and likely more robust physique is another possibility. However, the simplest explanation is that Evelyn assisted Leon with infernal power. After Evelyn’s death, Leon lost access to that power, making the spell weaker.
