A very large and hierarchical circle based in Seattle. It first appeared in Good Intentions.
History[]
The Brotherhood of Apollo—usually just the Brotherhood—was formed and dominated by Hermetics, but contained Practitioners from several different Practices.[1][2] It developed into the largest circle in Seattle by expanding aggressively, forcing lone Practitioners or smaller circles to either join them or leave the city, and in some cases killing them.
Among their members were Garrison, who was expelled about three years ago for being too obsessed with demons of lust.
It is probable that they became more aggressive in their expansion after Elizabeth’s death. They were however infamous for it already when her will was read.[1][2] Among their victims was a Russian Practitioner in Tukwila. They had also repeatedly approached Molly and Onyx, though only with a low-ranking member.[3]
In September Lydia approached their leader Lord Stefan about help to find and capture Lorelei, thus drawing them into a direct alliance with Hell and with Lady Anastacia’s vampires.[3] The resulting Battle of the Blackthorne Manor caused the death of most known members and the dissolution of the Brotherhood.[2]
The Brotherhood had seventeen members present at the reception hosted by Blackthorne.[4] Kenneth escaped, possibly by not being present, only to be captured by Lord Cornelius. It is unknown if there were other survivors.
The disappearance of the largest circle in Seattle had two effects. The first was that the remaining Practitioners found that their power had increased.[5] The other was a lot of concern and sometimes fear among them about what had happened. This caused Kate Oakwood and Jin to call a meeting in January, at which the Battle of the Casino took place.
Values[]
The Brotherhood appears to have been strictly hierarchal and viewed themselves as above or outside the law or ordinary mortals.[1][6] At least one member—Ms. Black—appears to have lived a completely black life without contact with mundane authorities.[7][8] The Brotherhood tenant of House 12573 lived there openly, but using falsified records, and had also murdered a mundane man in order to bind his soul to the house as a guardian.[9]
There was also a strong element of sexual aggression and misogyny within the Brotherhood. They had few female members. They regularly summoned minor demons of lust as a rite of passage and a test of willpower for members, thus causing them to dabble with Hell. Kenneth thinks about how he and Lord Stefan would rape and break Molly and Onyx in retaliation for standing up to them. Garrison was also a past member of and initially supported by the Brotherhood, until he was expelled for delving too close to Hell.[3]
Apart from the regular summonings of demons, they also had contacts with Anastacia’s Court and with the Family.[3][10]

Resources[]
The Brotherhood appeared to be very well-funded and with large mundane resources. Kenneth was accompanied by six men serving as muscle in his attempt to kidnap Molly and Onyx—one driver, one close associate, and two pairs of men stationed in each direction. Stefan was accompanied by two bodyguards in his office overlooking Elliott Bay.[3]
Elizabeth’s will bequeathed her house on Queen Anne Hill to the Brotherhood.[1] Its current status is unknown.
