A pirate captain. He first appeared in Poor Man’s Fight.
Biography[]
Casey was a Union Fleet officer and the commander of a destroyer when he saved an illegal NorthStar mining colony by fighting off three Krokinthian raiders. The exposure of the illegal colony however brought him too many powerful enemies, and he was court martialed and dishonorably discharged.
As a result, he became a pirate instead, soon taking command of the pirate ship Vengeance and starting a partnership with Lauren Williams. In 2271, he was approached by David Kiribati of the Archangel system, where Kiribati would be a steady customer, provide intelligence, and to a degree direct Casey’s operations.[1]
Over the following years, Casey became the de facto leader of a small pirate fleet. His capture of the NSS Aphrodite and the later raid on Qal’at Khalil in Hashem brought him more than a bit of notoriety.[2][3] His capture of the NSS Pride of Polaris however brought an end to his luck, when Tanner Malone managed to launch a one-man assault on first Vengeance and then Pride of Polaris.[4][5]
Casey was taken captive and sent to prison, but the partnership with Kiribati continued.[6] He was quietly moved from prison to a combination of prison and command of ASG Argent, formerly the Aphrodite.[7] He participated in the evacuation of the Archangel consulate on Scheherazade and later on the Battle of Raphael.[8][9]
He continued to fight in the Debtor’s War, gradually wresting control of the ship’s crew from the Archangel Ministry of Intelligence to himself.[10] Upon the return to Uriel Argent required repairs, and Tanner Malone managed to infiltrate the ship, take Casey captive, and extract the two to the Hashemite consulate.[11] His appearance there together with Tanner’s other revelations caused a constitutional crisis in Archangel.
Relationships[]
Casey is close to Lauren Williams, though their relationship appears primarily to be professional.[9] He seems to prefer sex without having to deal with romance.[12]
Abilities[]
Casey is highly charismatic and a superlative tactician and shiphandler. He also has superior close combat skills. He can switch between brutality and charm at will.
