Crowns worn by the Princes of Hell. They first appeared in Good Intentions.
General[]
The Crowns of Hell are worn by the Princes of Hell, with the exception of Sammael.[1] It marks their status as a Prince and allows them to draw power from their realm of Hell.
Their origin is unknown, but they are likely as old as Hell itself.[2] Claiming one will break all bonds and ties, and replace it with rulership of and a direct connection to one of Hell’s realms.[3]
Iron crown[]
The iron crown belonged to Baal. After Baal had been killed by Alex, Lorelei took up the crown but refused to claim it. Instead, she ordered the entire realm to fight to win it.[4] The crown enforced that command, compelling all of Baal’s former demons to fight.[3]
Lorelei finally claimed the crown due to the threat from Azazel and the Light. She destroyed the crowns of Baal and Azazel during the Battle of Perdition by draining them of all energy.[5] The remaining pieces of the Iron Crown are possibly able to sever any chain or kill any being.[6]
Other crowns[]
Lilith wears a crown, but she conceals it with magic.[7] Azazel’s crown is golden. Mammon’s crown is made of rubies and diamonds.[1]
