Elevated rights
“Laws and ethics are what make an army or a navy something different than a mob of assholes with guns. We cannot let ourselves become that mob. That’s where your real responsibility lies.”
— Admiral Todd Branch, Rich Man’s War, chapter 6
Users with elevated rights—like admin—are always expected to act according to the § Guidelines, in particular ¶ Discuss and ¶ Collaborate. See also Best practices for administrators for desired personal qualities.
Receiving elevated rights
To be considered for elevated rights an editor should have provided regular constructive contributions to the site over an extended time, at a minimum one month. They should also be able to improve the quality of the wiki, e.g. through design skills or improving low-coverage areas. Quality of contributions is considered much more important than quantity. Contact a bureaucrat on their wall about this.
Removal of elevated rights
Grounds for removal of elevated rights are:
- Inactivity on the wiki for six or more months.
- Any misuse of elevated rights or abuse of authority.
- Any behavior covered under § Warning.
- Any violation of the § Dorm rules.
Please contact a bureaucrat about any concerns about the behavior of users with elevated rights.
