The home of Molly and Onyx. It first appeared in Personal Demons.

Description[]

House 12573 was a well-maintained rambler house in brown and white, surrounded by greenery and with a small backyard. It was dominated by an open living and dining room with a fireplace. There was a small kitchen and two bedrooms on one end of the house, and then the master bedroom located behind the fireplace. It had two bathrooms.[1]

Molly and Onyx used of the bedrooms as a ritual room.[2] Furnishings were mostly second hand.[2][3] A herb garden had been planted in the backyard.[4] They had also raised wards around the house.[5]

Becca served as its property manager, and the owners lived in Kirkland.[1]

History[]

The owners of the house had moved out a few years ago and leased it out rather than sell it. Their previous tenant was a Practitioner who murdered Greg Fisher and bound his soul to the building as its guardian. Greg remained after the tenant disappeared in September, and drove away other prospectors for the house. Molly and Onyx managed to enter the house in early December with help from Alex, and then likely released Greg’s soul.[1] They moved from the Shoreline apartment to their new house between Christmas and New Year’s Eve and then hosted a New Year’s party as housewarming.[2]

People[]

Other associated people[]

  • Becca, property manager
  • Absent owners in Kirkland
  • Greg Fisher, an involuntary guardian ghost
  • The previous tenant, an unnamed Practitioner

Theories[]

The exact location of the house is undisclosed, but one possibility based on its number is that it was located on either Densmore Avenue N or Corliss Avenue N in the Haller Lake neighborhood, placing it slightly north of North Seattle Community College and close to the lake. Another alternative would be 17th Avenue NE.

The previous tenant is unknown. Both Molly and Onyx presumed that he was a member of the Brotherhood of Apollo, but it was not confirmed. Given that the previous tenant used a necromantic ritual, the obvious initial candidate would be Warren. Another possibility is Garrison, who also died in September and had great knowledge of spirits and wards. He would also have a greater need to protect himself against other Practitioners, not being a member of a circle anymore. The “few years” that the previous tenant stayed would also fit with Garrison being expelled “nearly three years ago”.[1][6]

Trivia[]

There is a house on 12573 Corliss Avenue N in Seattle, but it does not match the written description.
