“You are in on the secret. Safety now lies in knowledge.” — Spoilers for Devil in the Details follow.
A major city in Nevada and the setting for Devil in the Details.
General[]
Las Vegas was a city in Nevada in western USA.
The Shadows[]
Mammon controlled a Low Roads terminal in Las Vegas.[1]
Ghosts and hauntings were common, especially around the casinos. Werewolves were however not common.
Its Dominion was Matteo.[1][2] The angels of Las Vegas probably met in the Guardian Angel Cathedral (wikipedia). Matteo held very strict policies on what mortals could and could not know and of their behavior, leading to a high proportion of people without guardian angels.[3][4]
Vampires[]
Las Vegas was noted as a good place for vampires. It held a large vampire population, but its leadership tended to change relatively often by vampire standards, either due to internal coups or external pressure.[5] Known vampire lords were the Marquis during the 1970s, Jeremiah Clement, and Clement’s successor Jefferson.
Johanna Matthias had earlier held business interests in the city and used it to do mundane business with other vampires in Las Vegas. She quietly divested herself of it sometime between March and July.[6][7]

Theories[]
The greater than usual amount of hauntings in Las Vegas might have been due to Matteo’s policies, which meant a much higher proportion of people without guardian angels living in the city.[8][9] That would mean many more candidates for souls turning into ghosts. On the other hand, the population in the casinos was likely dominated by tourists, who probably had a proportion of guardian angels tending to them much more similar to the population outside Las Vegas.
Matteo’s policies might also have contributed to the city being a good place for vampires, in various ways.
