A gunnery sergeant in the Archangel Navy, usually simply called “gunny”. She first appeared in Poor Man’s Fight.
Biography[]
Michelle Janeka served as a gunnery sergeant and was a living legend within the Archangel military. Together with Bill Everett she planned the “new guard” and led the training of Oscar Company together with him.[1] She led many of the newly trained spacers and marines during the Battle of Raphael and the Debtor’s War.
Besides her duty as a regular gunnery sergeant, she often participated in various covert operations. In particular, she participated in the capture of the pirate ship Guillotine in March 2276 and the mission to obtain evidence of illegal xenobiological research by CDC in January 2277.[2] The mission was a success, but not in the way that the mission planners had envisioned when a captive Nyuyinaro alien was freed.[3]
She participated in both the invasion of Fairhaven and the evacuation of Minos.
Besides Tanner Malone she is the only known living recipient of the Archangel Star. It is unknown when she received it.

Janeka is married Chris. Together they have the son Andrew.[4]
Abilities[]
Janeka is very strong and a very talented fighter. She has great experience both as a soldier, spacer, and undercover agent.
As a spacer she is very skilled in damage control and has some ship handling skills.
