The main character of Hot Restart.

Biography[]

Riley Morgan was born in Los Angeles, Earth, in 2117. The neighborhood was rough, and he grew up finding the gangs preferable to the police. After graduation from high school he enlisted in the Coalition Fleet. Following initial training and a tour as a crewman he went through training in security and intelligence, and was assigned to the sector headquarters on Aegis Proxima. His military careet was cut short when he refused to release some suspects for “questioning” in a way that was against regulations. As a result he was court-martialed and discharged, with his licenses suspended. He was probably unable to afford leaving Aegis Proxima, and made his living doing pit fights at Toquii’s club and later as salvage crew on the Mashringa.[1]

Sometime during the period after his court martial he began a relationship with Eliza Carrington and lived with her in the East Warrens of Aegis Proxima. The relation proved troublesome. He broke up with Eliza on the same day he left for a shady salvage and retrieval mission of the crippled yacht Amethyst.[2] Upon discovery of the apparently alive Selena and believing her to be a viction of abduction he broke with his old crew and attempted to rescue her by deactivating the stasis pod where she was held.[3]

Riley and Selene managed to subdue or evade the crew of Mashringa, and escaped using the Amethyst.[1]

Relationships[]

Riley is the boyfriend and lover of Selene. Together they have started to explore relationships with Leeth and Eezall.

He used to be in a monogamous relationship with Eliza Carrington, but the relationship ended recently.

His mother likely still lives on Earth. There is no known information on other family.

Abilities[]

Riley is an experienced and capable fighter. He has plenty of street smarts and knows at least the basics of most duties of a spacer.
