A fallen archangel and a prince of Hell.
Biography[]
Sammael fell from grace some time after the Fall and the creation of Hell, but before the appearance of Christianity.[1] Before his fall, he had temporary sexual relations with Rachel and many other angels, to such a degree that characterised him as the village bicycle among angels.[2]

Unlike other fallen angels, he managed to keep some of his angelic attributes and powers. Compared to the other princes, he had small holdings and few open followers, but he had also gained the loyalty of many other demons serving other lords. He was at least as powerful as any other demon lord on a personal level.[1] He was the only prince of Hell who does not carry a crown.[3]
Among the demons he took as lovers was Lorelei, sometime before 1 CE. They maintained that relationship even after she was traded to Belial. He also started a relationship with Evelyn, who served Azazel. After Lorelei became tied to Alex and the destruction of Baal, Sammael became very interested in bringing back Lorelei under him.[4]
He assisted Azazel and Evelyn in their attempt to take over Seattle with the Light as pawns, and thus participated in the Battle of the Casino, with the dual goals of wooing Lorelei and kidnapping Alex. Instead, the abduction of Alex went awry and Sammael was badly wounded by first Lorelei and then Rachel. He pursued Alex to the Middle East and caught up with him in Beirut. Alex escaped back to Seattle with Zafirah’s assistance, with Sammael pursuing, where they joined the ongoing Battle of Suite 1705.
Sammael grabbed Alex and attempted to kill him, but Rachel and Lorelei managed to catch up with them. In the end, Lorelei killed him. It is unknown if his death was permanent or if he will reconstitute in Hell.[5]
The demon Evelyn was his lover.[6] Among his former lovers were Lorelei and the angels Rachel and Daniel (angel).
Known demons in service[]
Sammael has less overt forces and a smaller realm than the other demon lords, but has a network of unknown size of demons in the service of other lords that secretly are loyal to him.

Abilities[]
Sammael was extremely charming and good-looking, with great powers of persuasion, both mundane and supernatural. He possessed great fighting skills, and was able to hold off and defeat several angels at the same time in a fight. He also had managed to hold on to the healing abilities of an angel.[6]
