“Trust” is a novelette published in the collection Low-Key Calamities in 2023. Lorelei’s Lexus has been stolen. She sets out to retreive it.

Synopsis[]
Alia, a guardian angel, came to Rachel to tell that her ward had stolen Lorelei’s car. Upon being told, Lorelei immediately left her after work and set out to retreive her car. Her hunt led her to a crooked parking lot guard and a desperate thief, before she found her car taken in by an organized group of car fences.
Lorelei was however discovered as she tried to retreive the car, and had to subdue and chase the group away. Meanwhile, Rachel had to work hard to keep the events from escalating out of control.

“Trust” is set in November, shortly after Natural Consequences, per the story notes and comments on the story on Patreon.[1] Given that “Date Night” was Alex’s first planned visit to Molly and Onyx and fell on a Friday, this story falls the week after that story, or possibly later. That makes the third Thursday of November a likely day, with “Trust” falling before “This Year, I’m Thankful For…”.
