An angel and Rachel’s former boyfriend. He first appeared in Good Intentions.
Biography[]
Vincent served as an angel on the Mortal plane, probably as a guardian, and became Rachel’s boyfriend while she was still a librarian. In order to be closer to him she gave up that role and instead became a messenger.[1]
The relationship between the two however suffered because Rachel began to notice that Vincent only did performative heroics, only loved himself, and had some form of bias in his actions. She broke up with him in 1517, after she had seen Martin Luther publish his Ninety-five Theses.[1][2]
Vincent however maintained a reputation as a hero, and received Dominion of Seattle around a century ago. However, as Dominion he was ineffectual, causing evil supernaturals and the Shadows to grow largely unhindered and unnoticed in the city.[3] He still held Dominion when Alex encountered Rachel and Lorelei.[1]
The Battle of Blackthorne Manor exposed the amount of evil supernaturals in Seattle and how little Vincent had done to curb them. Vincent was stripped of Dominion over the city in disgrace and replaced by Rachel.[3]
Vincent’s current duties are unknown, but he is still active on the mortal world.[4]
Personal[]
Like most angels, he is good-looking, with faded scars on his muscular chest. He is assertive and appears forceful, but is fundamentally narcissistic. He also has a tendency to use any argument that in some way might support his position, no matter if he believes it or not.[5][1]
Relationships[]
Vincent was in a relation with Rachel for several centuries. He appears to be biased against Rachel since their breakup, finding fault in all of her actions or decisions.[4] At some unknown point he made advances towards Lorelei that she considered “rather oafish”.[3] He had Harrow as his favorite enemy and demon to hunt.[1]
